BRAVIA ENGINE EX is an enhanced version of the now renowned

BRAVIA ENGINE
The KDL 40W3000 TV comes with Intelligent Picture Technology. It performs many of the same functions, but at a far higher level. Four advanced technologies (Composite Component Technology, Image Format Technology, Flat Panel Display Driver Technology and Digital Reality Creation) combine to produce outstanding picture performance with even greater density and depth.

40W3000 Live Colour Creation
Your 40W3000 will also include Sony's unique Live Colour Creation is a new Sony technology unique to BRAVIA televisions. It delivers 30% wider colour than conventional LCD technology. This result in a release of far deeper and more accurate tones for stunning colour reproduction, exactly as nature intended.

BRAVIA
The term Bravia means Best Resolution Audio Visual Integrated Architecture

1080p
This new W series KDL40W3000 comes in the ultimate HD format – 1080p provides more than 2 million pixels for a smooth high resolution image. Here the 'p' shows that the image employs the progressive or non-interlaced picture-scanning process where all the lines of the image are refreshed by every vertical scan. 1080p is the maximum resolution defined for HDTV use and this format is used for Blu-ray Disc® and PLAYSTATION®3.

Blu-ray
The Blu-ray Disc is a high-density optical disc format designed for storage of high-definition video and data.

HDMI
The 40W3000 incudes a HDMI. This stands for High-Definition Multimedia Interface. Similar to DVI (but using much smaller connectors), the multi-pin HDMI interface transfers uncompressed digital video with copy protection and multichannel audio. Using an adapter, HDMI is backward-compatible with most current DVI connections
